Coded Values and Data type 'boolean'

Post by wuelfing »

Chapter 2.8 (ISO/TS 13499 – RED A : 2014(E)) does include the valid values for the descriptor 'Movie images corrected'.
The valid values are 'YES' and 'NO'.
Therefore the descriptor in chapter 1.3.6.1 has the data type 'coded' and the remark 'see 2.8'.
But for the additional biomechanical testobject information (Chapter 1.3.3.3) there is the descriptor 'Out of position' which has the data type 'coded' and the remark 'YES or NO' and not the cross-references 'see 2.8'.

I would propose the following changes:
1.
Change the title of chapter 2.8 to 'Valid values for the boolean data type'
2.
Maybe adding the data type 'bool', 'boolean' or 'boolstring' to the chapter 1.2 'Definition of basic and generic data types' and declare which values are valid for the boolean data type by using the cross-references 'see 2.8'.
3.
The reserved word 'NOAVLUE' should be also valid for a boolean data type?

These changes may also be helpful to handle boolean data even for future and additional descriptors.
