New Codes for the Data Source

Dear colleagues,
up to now most of us work with the data measured by transducer systems (data source is transducer).
For the data source camera which is used for data from video/filmanaysis the FilterCode V is valid since MME 1.3. For the other data sources we need additional FilterCodes. My proposal:
  • T for the data source simulation
U for the data source calculation
In our company we start with the data fusion from different sources.
We compare and combine data from transducers, filmanalysis, simulation and calculation.
In many cases data from similar MainLocations.
It is very important for us to have an additional possibility to distinguish between the different data sources
even if the channels are filtered. For this reason I propose the new FineLocations:
  • FA for the data source camera which is derived from filmanalysis
CA for the data source calculation
SM for the data source simulation

Hi Peter,
... to distinguish between the different data sources
even if the channels are filtered. For this reason I propose the new FineLocations:
if you are using fine locations you might get into conflict with some ISO codes that are already using all digits in the code. On the other hand you need to verify that the "Data Source" descriptor correlates to the coding. Basically we are then storing information redundant with you proposal.

I can understand that people would like to identify from the ISO code of a measurement between the different sources, but may we need to find another solution for that?

I expect that you also regret from you first proposal to use additional Filter codes (T,U) as the simulation and calculation need to distinguish between different filter classes.

No solution for V1.x.
For V2.x see proposal 7.
