Additional code for aPLI Moment Channels
Posted: Tue Oct 17, 2023 9:17 am
Dear Colleagues,
there is a request for the handling of the Moment Channel Codes for the aPLI.
Basically the codes are already defined and could be found in the database as well as in the figures: Motivation:
As there exists two different procedures to certify the bone, there is a need to mark the method followed and
to may correct the samples in the channel by multiplying with a factor.
There are different ways to "mark" the method used and the need for conversion:
A: provide a constant channel with the moment measurement channel
B: modify the coding of the moment channels to signal the method used
C: assign a new descriptor in the channel to transport the scaling need/factor
Method "A" (additional constant channel)
- requires additional channel(s)
- information not applied to the channel file itself
- allows to provide individual factors for each channel (if that is needed)
Method "B" (change coding)
- visible from outside
- channel is self descriptive
- no individual factor can be applied (if that is needed)
- coding approach needed (space in FL1,FL2; which is which)
Method "C" (add descriptor to each channel)
- channel is self descriptive
- no individual factor can be applied (if that is needed)
- decriptor needed for the factor
Method "B" will require a recoding approach. As some codes are already completely used
(TIBIMIUP/TIBIMILO) the FL1 and FL" codes must be compressed to allow a marker text in the code: It would be helpful to get feedback from the users of this device for the preferred implementation
related to the usage.
May there are also some more ideas or aspects to respect for the different variants of the implementation.
Kind regards,
Dirk
