New fine location for special dummy for autonomous driving

Hello,

in the moment everybody talks about autonomous driving. In this case the occupant has possibility for other position in the car then seating upright. For this case we have discussions about new dummy types or variants of existing dummys.

Known projects:
THOR 50% AV
THOR 5% AV

In my opinion this dummys needs new fine location 3 names. In the moment I don't have a nice idea for it...

Dear colleagues,

I would like to document the current state of the discussion:

We have discussed this topic in our last ISO MME task force meetings.
But we have had not enough information and no experts at hand to find a quick, suitable solution.

The main concerns in the discussion are:

a) Will there be also other AV-Dummy in the future, that are not THOR based?
b) Will there be much more other sizes/classes beside 50th and 5th? (95th, 10year,…)
c) Is there a significant change in the instrumentation/design (pelvis angle, range of motion…)?

In principle that will influence if we try to find some nice/matching characters to form a "Tx" like code (like TA,….):

Or if we should change to a complete other coding like AV. But Ax is already occupied partly by:

May a complete new leading character will be the best approach to have enough "freedom" to code variants?

Any input of experts/engineers that are working in that area is welcome, to be able to realize a
future-prove naming concept.

This could be extended in the future with TX (X => large, 95th?)

for THOR AV from Humenatics this proposal is fine for me.

for your questions:

NHTSA and other dummy supplier also works on dummys for AV. I know minimum one also based on the NHTSA-THOR

b) Will there be much more other sizes/classes beside 50th and 5th? (95th, 10year,…)

I don't know

c) Is there a significant change in the instrumentation/design (pelvis angle, range of motion…)?

I think everything with influence on possible seating position: other pelvis, other spine box, other neck, other abdomen.
I also think that the instrumentation can change, e.g. using the ATPS-sensor like the Q-child abdomen for UN-R129 (NHTSA have this in the instrumentation list for THOR 5%).
