PTW dummy isocode

Post by Miguel A Gallego »

Hi all,

We will use the PTW (Powered Two-Wheeler) dummy in one project and I don´t know what isocode to use in FL3 for this dummy. With the codings we have now, I would use "MD" but I am not sure if the dummy is worthy of having its own isocode.

Here the link with info about the dummy:
https://www.humaneticsgroup.com/product ... -dummy-ptw

I will highly apreaciate any feedback on that.

Best regards

Dear Miguel,

I guess the MD dummy type is not specific.
It has been intruduced to have a general categorie for a Motorcycle driver (or sozius, determined by the zone 2 or 5)
Actually I am not aware if in ISO 13232 there is a standardized dummy avaiable. Is this the PWT dummy you are using?

Kind regards,
Dirk

...Ahh. I followed your link and that answered my question :-)

"As with the development of the Motorcyclist Anthropometric Test Device (MATD- ISO 13232-3) an updated modification of the Hybrid III pedestrian is proposed as the principal solution. To this base dummy a small set of modifications are made to allow simple and yet adequate representation of a PTW rider. "
"Based on the Hybrid III 50th Percentile Male Pedestrian ATD"

I guess MD will do fine here. All other parts of the channel codes are quite clear from the underlying H3 base design.
